Niches, SEO, Offline meets Online

Posted on May 30th, 2010 in Products Reviewed

So yes its been a while, again!, but I really have been busy with other projects.

Some Niches I’ve Gotten into see we last spoke.

Jobs for felons

This is a bigger niche than you think. The US has more convicted felons than anyother country on earth, and when they get out, it shard to find a job for a felon.

So this niche is bring me about $200 a month in Adsense and affiliate rev, off of one site.

Blog flipping

Believe it or not this is a very small niche, smaller than the felon niche. Basically is a niche where you discuss the business of blog flipping and website flipping. But this niche turned out to be commercially successful, in that they are a lot of clickbank products focused on? blogging and blog flipping, so the clickbank revenue from this one site turns out to be about $250 per month.

Online Marketing Management

This is more of a service business than a site per se. Here I am offering seo services, including, link building services, social bookmarking services, ppc management services, and general marketing management services as well as website design services.

Some projects we’ve begun relate to the following niches:

Minority Owned Business Enterprises ( MBE )

Woman Owned business enterprises ( WBE )

These are included in a broader niche dubbed MWBE

We also recently started sites for videography services, especially in the wedding niche, for wedding videographers in New York and wedding videographers on Long Island .

Our most recent site is full of pediatrician profiles for pediatricians in Jackson Heights, NY.

The objective with the videographer and pediatrician sites is to sel ad space to related services and physicians. Of course you need to rank in the top five for the niche’s keywords or no one will buy ad space from you, so on a few of these we’re still working on the SEO, while a couple already are at number 1 on google, or in the top 3 on google.

I’ll keep everybody updated………..bye for now

Why You Should Have More Than One Hosting Account

Posted on December 16th, 2009 in SEO, Web Hosting

A friend of mine sent me an email about three months ago, bitching that he can’t get his sites ranking better, an he has a nice amount of over 10. He does all the seo stuff he should , drips content, keyword rich content, but he can’t bust the top 10 for his niches, and for a few not even the top 20.

Now lets face it, if SEM is your method of driving traffic and getting sales, you need to be on page 1 of Google.

There difference between page 1 and 2 is much deeper than just one level.

His linking strategy was the problem. He was linking his sites together, thinking he give himself some free backlinks.

You see, if all of your links come from web sites that are hosted in the same place, on the same IP address more specifically, (ie. if they are all on your one shared hosting account), Google will ignore the links.

Because Google understand the links are not natural. So what to do?

Have a few different hosting accounts. I have five actually, but at even $10/mth per account its still a reasonably cheap $50 a month.

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you buy Proxy Privacy for each domain you have, it should be under $10. If you don’t do this google can connect you to your sites the a Whois search.

…also make sure all your links are one way. Don’t start interlinking with reciprocal linking, it will defeat the purpose.

So if you can afford it and you’re serious about making it online, do open more than 1 or even 2 hosting accounts. Believe me it’ll be worth the few extra $$$ each month in the long haul.

Just my opinion, based on what I have been taught and what I do.

Niches Websites: How to Find a Niche

Posted on December 12th, 2009 in Marketing, Niche Marketing

Niche Websites are a great way for internet marketers to either start or expand their online income. A good niche can come out of anywhere: bird cages, antique maps, historical manuscripts, above 40 dating, its endless really.

Sounds great right? But here’s the problem, which one of all those thousands of niches out there, are profitable?

Here’s what you need to find out…

  • Is the niche is big enough?
  • Is the niche too big, too hard to compete in?
  • Are people spending money in the niche?
  • If they are, how hard is the niche to monetize?
  • What are the correct keywords to target?
  • How hard will it be to get on page one of Google for those keywords?

The good news is all of these questions can be answered quite accurately. The problem is time.

Here is what I mean.

You can’t be successful operating in just one niche, especially if its small. But trying to compete in a large niche like “dating” for example can be very difficult.

So what you need are many small niche websites that each bring in a little money every month. When you add them all up, it can turn into real significant income. But the time needed to research all these different niches will in most cases discourage people from taking action. Plus trial and error can be both time consuming and very expensive, build 15 websites in 15 niches only to find out 1 or 2 are profitable.

How can you solve the time and money problem?

A friend of mine, Jimmy Jones, has put together a product called “Micro Niche Finder.” It does all the market research, keyword research, competitor research, that anyone would need, to find good profitable niches without too much existing competition. It will streamline your research efforts so that you don’t end up spending a lot of time and money building 10 niche websites to find one that is somewhat profitable.

The product gives the user an inherent advantage over others by partially automating the entire niche research side of the business. We all know how to build niche websites, its finding the right niche that is the problem. Micro Niche Finder solves that problem for you.

Here are what some people are saying about the product:

The product is phenomenal and keeps getting better. But I have found something even better…your support! It is rare to find such an effective product and superior, top level support to go with it. Thank you!

Micro Niche Finder is an absolutely wonderful tool for keyword research. It trumps competing, higher-priced tools by a huge margin. I have made Micro Niche Finder one of my preferred business partners. I don’t launch any campaign without consulting it first. Thanks for the great tool, James.

Bottom line is, if you’re looking for new niches and want to use your time and money efficiently, this is a product you should try.

As usual I only discuss products that have a 100% No questions asked refund policy, which Micro Niche Finder does have.

Tiger Woods Scandal….A Marketing Disaster?

Posted on December 9th, 2009 in Marketing

Is he losing his Marketing Muscle?
Is he losing his Marketing Muscle?

The continuing Tiger Woods sex scandal has still not caused Mr. Woods to lose any of his endorsement deals,…. yet. However, as each day passes with a new woman coming out with new revelations, Tiger’s marketing partners like Nike, Accenture, AT&T, and Tag Heuer, to name a few, have to be at least reviewing the “Morals” clauses in their endorsement contracts with Mr. Woods.

I don’t believe we are anywhere near the point where companies start dropping him left and right yet, especially with his Golf and sports related partners like Nike, whose contract with Tiger is reportedly in the $100 million range. The recent hype about Gator Aid canceling their deal with Tiger is murky. The company says its canceling a specific Tiger related product, and has not mentioned specifically that they are killing their deal with Tiger in full, at least as of this writing.

Still, there have been no Tiger advertisement at all, for any product, on TV and Cable since the beginning of December.

Tiger Woods is still a valuable commodity to these companies. But the value is eroding already. According to Bloomberg News,

Tiger Woods? standing with the public is in freefall following reported extramarital affairs, according to a consumer research company. The 33-year-old golfer?s ranking on a list of celebrity endorsers plunged to 24th from 6th, based on the Davie Brown Index, which marketers and advertising agencies use to gauge the ability of personalities to influence consumer behavior.

Still if things get to the “We need to disassociate with Tiger….” stage, things could get ugly for his endorsement income, very quickly. What could cause that can be left to speculation.

So what does all this tell us about marketing? Well, if you are the endorsed, Nike, etc., don’t put all your eggs in one basket, which I’m sure they don’t. But for smaller marketers, attaching your products to celebrity personas, large or small, can be a double edged sword, since you have no control over your celebrity’s actions.

If you are the endorser, watch what you’re doing because it could cost you big time.
